Your agent reaches Android over one MCP URL.

Most Android MCP servers run on your computer and drive a device through adb, so you install the Android SDK and start an emulator first. Ramus is a remote MCP server: your agent adds one URL, you sign in, and it gets an Android emulator in the cloud.

Checked October 29, 2026. Other products change their plans and features; each claim about one links to its source.

Connect.

Add the server, then sign in with your Ramus account when the client asks. There is no key to paste.

# Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http ramus https://api.ramus.dev/api/mcp

# Codex
codex mcp add ramus --url https://api.ramus.dev/api/mcp

# Cursor: ~/.cursor/mcp.json
{ "mcpServers": { "ramus": { "url": "https://api.ramus.dev/api/mcp" } } }

In ChatGPT, open Apps, search for Ramus and choose Connect. Any other client that speaks Streamable HTTP can use the same URL, with sign-in or an API key sent as a bearer token. See Connect an agent.

What your agent can do.

  • Start a device

android_start_session starts an emulator from an APK, an app Ramus already has or a pull request. android_install_app installs a new build on a running device. android_upload_apk gives an agent with a shell a one-time upload for a local file.

  • Read the screen

android_snapshot returns the screen as elements, each with a ref. android_screenshot returns the picture when the elements are not enough.

  • Act and check

android_tap takes visible text or a ref, and can name the text it expects. Each action returns the screen it led to, so the agent decides the next step from it. A ref from an older screen is refused.

  • Hand it over

Every device comes with a watch link. android_share_session makes more, including one that gives each person their own device. android_list_feedback and android_get_feedback read the notes people send back.

Android-MCPWhere the device runs:A device or emulator that adb on your computer reaches2What you install:Python 3.13, uv and adb2Sign-in:None; it runs over stdio2
Maestro MCPWhere the device runs:Your computer; cloud tools submit test runs to Maestro Cloud3What you install:The Maestro CLI, which needs Java 17 or later4Sign-in:None locally; Maestro sign-in for cloud tools3
LimrunWhere the device runs:Limrun's cloud: Android 14 and 15 emulators, iOS simulators5What you install:Nothing for the remote server6Sign-in:Limrun account, or an API key6

BrowserStack MCPWhere the device runs:BrowserStack's real-device cloud9What you install:Nothing for the hosted server; the local server uploads apps from your machine10Sign-in:BrowserStack account; App Live tools need an App Live license10

A local server is the right choice when you already run an emulator or keep a phone plugged in, and want nothing to leave your machine. A remote one suits agents without the Android SDK: cloud agents, ChatGPT, and machines where you would rather not run an emulator.

Questions.

Do I need adb or Android Studio?

No. The device runs in the cloud and your agent reaches it over MCP. Only the CLI's adb tunnel and hot-reload loop use Android tools on your computer.

Can the agent upload an APK from my machine over MCP?

Yes, if the agent has a shell. android_upload_apk returns a one-time curl command that uploads the file, and android_start_session or android_install_app then uses it. In ChatGPT, attach the APK to a message.

Which clients work?

Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and ChatGPT sign in over MCP. Any other client that supports Streamable HTTP can connect, with sign-in or an API key.

Does it support iOS?

No. Ramus runs Android emulators only.

What does it cost?

Free includes 30 minutes a month. Pro is $10 a month for unlimited minutes and two devices at once. Sessions your agent starts count toward your plan.
