Claude Code gets an Android emulator in the cloud.

Add Ramus to Claude Code and it can install your build on an Android emulator, read the screen, tap through a flow and check the result, with no Android Studio or emulator on your machine. You follow along from a link, and take over from your device page.

Checked October 29, 2026. Other products change their plans and features; each claim about one links to its source.

Set it up.

claude mcp add --transport http ramus https://api.ramus.dev/api/mcp

Then run /mcp in Claude Code, choose ramus and sign in with Ramus in the browser window that opens.

For hot reload and the adb tunnel, add the CLI too: npm i -g ramus-cli, then ramus login, which signs in through your browser. ramus skill install saves the android-use skill where Claude Code reads it, and teaches Claude to observe, act and verify on the device.

Then ask.

Build the debug APK, install it on a Ramus device and check that
sign-in still works with the test account. Send me the watch link,
and the device log if a step fails.

Claude starts a device, installs the build and works through the flow. Each action returns the screen it led to, and Claude can name the text it expects, so a step that does not land comes back as an error.

What Claude can do on the device.

  • See the screen

It reads the screen as elements, each with a ref, and takes a screenshot when the elements are not enough.

  • Use the app

It taps visible text or an element it read, types, swipes and presses keys. A ref from an older screen is refused.

  • Read the log

It reads the device log when a step fails, and relaunches the app after a crash.

  • Hot reload

With ramus dev, changes to an Expo, React Native or Flutter app reach the device as Claude edits.

  • Camera and microphone

ramus camera and ramus mic feed an image or a WAV file, to scan a QR code or test a voice flow.

  • Hand it to you

Every device has a watch link. Open it to follow along; it is view-only. To take over, open your device page. Claude can also share the build, read the notes people send back and ask you before it changes code because of one.

A local emulator is free and quick on a machine that runs it well. Ramus is for when the machine cannot, when Claude runs in the cloud, or when someone else needs to see the device.

Questions.

Does Claude Code need Android Studio for this?

No. The emulator runs in the cloud and Claude installs your APK on it. Only the hot-reload loop, ramus dev, and the adb tunnel use Android tools on your computer.

Does it work with Claude Code on the web?

Yes, through the CLI. Give the cloud environment a Ramus API key as RAMUS_API_KEY and network access to ramus.dev, and add one line to CLAUDE.md pointing at the agent reference.

Can I watch what Claude is doing?

Yes. Every device has a watch link. Open it in any browser to follow along; it is view-only. To take over, open your device page.

Does Claude need an API key?

No. Over MCP and the CLI you sign in with your Ramus account once. Cloud sessions and CI, where no person can approve a sign-in, use an API key.

What does it cost?

Free includes 30 minutes a month. Pro is $10 a month for unlimited minutes and two devices at once.
